Today I spent most of the day preparing this website. In the mean time I burnt a pan with vegetables because I was so immersed in this here. So I will have to clean up the mess I caused. I opened all the windows to get rid of the smell in the house. Other times it was Ada that burnt the pans – apparently I now continue the tradition.
On another token, I was and still am overwhelmed by the apparent affection that people show towards me or towards Ada. Just one small example:
Yesterday I went to the restaurant next door for dinner. I was not allowed to pay for my meal. They wanted to treat me to this meal. I was speechless.
Another one blew me away: We got a letter of condolences from neighbours, we never had any close contact. But they let me know in this letter how much they admired Ada’s and my living together. It impressed them so much they wrote they want to emulate us. As I am writing this I am still stunned. There are many kind people around, I have yet to notice.
